For us, data is more than numbers on a page. It’s a representation of children, families, and communities across Oregon. But if data isn’t collected, approached, and shared equitably, it can unintentionally silence the voices it’s meant to uplift.
That’s why we’ve embarked on a vital Data Equity Project; it’s a commitment to ensuring our data work protects the people it represents, reduces bias, builds community trust, and holds us accountable to the highest standards.
In this new video, our Data & Research Manager, Jenna Marie, explains the core of this work: building a foundation of trust so that our partners, policymakers, and all Oregonians can feel confident, seen, and represented by the data we steward.
