As Our Children Oregon reaches our five-year milestone, we’re taking this moment to reflect, refine, and strengthen how we work, so we can better meet the urgent needs of Oregon’s children.
This period of intentional reflection and calibration is about ensuring we’re fully aligned with our purpose: supporting the prevention of child abuse and improving the lives of youth across the state by fortifying the organizations on the front lines of this work. That means taking a close look at our systems by identifying what’s working, where we can improve, and how we can deepen our impact alongside our partners and communities.
We’re grateful to have additional, trusted guidance during this transition:
- Danny Mankin of Page Two Partners, our Interim Executive Director, helping to streamline operations
- Ivy Major-McDowall (former Policy & Advocacy Director) and Shānna Pittman-Frank (former Development Director), offering their expertise in advisory consulting roles
This isn’t just about internal adjustments, it’s about how we show up for Oregon’s children and families and our partners. We’re committed to becoming a more effective advocate, collaborator, and partner in the fight for Oregon’s children and youth. Thank you for your support as we calibrate Our Children Oregon for ongoing impact, equity, and lasting change.
With gratitude,
The OCO Team
